Today, we’ll be reviewing ThisWorks, a regional EOR that’s headquartered in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Don’t let that put you off if you’re based elsewhere, though, because they’re also operational in Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain and Germany, and they may expand further in the months and years to come.
ThisWorks at a Glance
ThisWorks is pretty much exactly what it sounds like – an EOR that just works.
With over 25 years of history behind them, ThisWorks is an Employer of Record with a rich pedigree. They’ve spent the last quarter century providing a range of corporate and payroll solutions for companies from all over the world, with a particular focus on serving the Netherlands, where they’re based.

Interestingly, ThisWorks built its reputation by providing blue-collar staffing services, and that was the main thing it focused on until it launched its EOR services in 2020. In the five years since then, it’s continued to expand throughout Europe, launching presences in more countries and adding new services based upon the level of demand from their customers.
As of 2025, ThisWorks is known for being one of Europe’s leading EORs, acting both independently and as a local implementation partner for a number of global EORs including RemoFirst, Global Expansion, Papaya Global and Multiplier.
Overall impression of ThisWorks
ThisWorks is a solid regional EOR for European hiring, particularly strong in the Netherlands where they’ve operated for 25+ years. They’re not trying to be a global one-stop-shop, instead, they focus on doing European EOR exceptionally well.
Best for: Dutch companies expanding across Europe, or any business hiring in Netherlands/ Germany/ UK/ Poland/ Spain that values local expertise and white-glove service over flashy tech.
Not for: Global companies needing 20+ countries coverage, or tech-first teams expecting Deel-level platform automation.
Key Features & Services of ThisWorks
Unlike some of the other EORs that we’ve looked at, ThisWorks isn’t trying to be everything to everyone. Instead, they’ve identified what their clients need and focused on getting very good at doing that.
That means that if you’re looking for an all-encompassing EOR (or one that operates throughout the globe), you might want to look elsewhere. Still, if you’re looking for a European EOR then it’s worth taking a closer look at what they bring to the table. Your goal should be to understand what you need and to check that against what ThisWorks provides. If there’s a match, they might just be the right EOR for you.
Here are the key features and services that you can expect from ThisWorks.
ThisWorks Country Coverage: Owned Entities vs Partner Network
ThisWorks specializes in servicing European companies, with a particular focus on those based in the Netherlands. However, it also has a presence in Germany, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
We’ve summarised the various legal entities that ThisWorks operates with, along with the countries they serve and their date of incorporation.

ThisWorks Pricing: Costs & Hidden Fees
ThisWorks is interesting because while many of their competitors list their prices front and center on their website, they tend to keep things a little more private. They have a basic pricing tier that you can use to get an idea for what they’ll charge, but they prefer to give bespoke quotes after you reach out to their team and let them know a little more about your company and its needs.
Here’s what you can expect from their basic pricing (per month, per employee, average for first year):
- Netherlands: $439
- Poland: $439
- UK: $439
- Spain: $439
- Germany: $439
As you can see, there’s no bias here based on the region you’re based in. Unfortunately, they’re not as open as some other EORs when it comes to their pricing and so while they offer a range of value-adds and additional services, it’s unclear what they charge for them all.
As a result of that, your best option is to use the basic pricing to give you a rough idea of ThisWorks’ affordability and then to reach out to them directly if you want to find out more.

4.8 /5.0
Because ThisWorks is a small, service-led local provider, we do not score Platform & Product Experience. Scoring this category would unfairly penalize providers whose value lies in hands-on local execution rather than software. This category is excluded from the total Global EOR Score.

Pros & Cons of ThisWorks EOR
White glove services are basically like regular services but rolled out via a red carpet. We’re talking about a premium service with all of the bells and whistles, but in ThisWorks’ case, it doesn’t cost the earth. That means that if you’re looking for a European EOR that makes every customer feel valued and like a priority, your search is over. You won’t find a white glove service like this without paying twice as much for the privilege.
Most EORs either have an international focus or specialize in servicing the US market. ThisWorks is different, because it’s one of the few leading EORs that specializes in serving Europe, although with the caveat that they’re only present in certain markets. They have a particular knack for working with companies in their native Netherlands, but they’re also a solid choice for UK companies and those in the other three countries that they serve.
For companies based in Germany or working with temporary workers that are based in the country, an AÜG license is essential. Short for “Arbeitnehmerüberlassungsgesetz” (try saying that five times), the AÜG is the German Temporary Employment Act, while an AÜG license is a permit that allows staffing agencies to supply other companies with temporary workers. Their commitment to obtaining an AÜG license shows just how dedicated and willing the company is when it comes to delivering compliant solutions.
Unlike some EORs, which are relatively new to the business and which don’t have a long history of happy clients that they can point to, ThisWorks has 25 years of history to prove their longevity. True, not all of that is as an EOR, but in many ways, that doesn’t matter. They’ve still had plenty of time to make connections and perfect their craft.
One final thing to note is that ThisWorks is particularly good at working with pensions, and so if pensions are a priority for you then they’re a solid first choice. That’s not to say that their other EOR services aren’t good; they’re just not necessarily the best ones on the market.
Unfortunately for those who like to be in control of things, ThisWorks doesn’t have a self-service option and so if you want to work with them you’ll need to chat to their sales team about what your company needs. In some ways, this is a strength in disguise, because that’s what allows them to tailor their offering to exactly what you need, but it does mean it can be a little trickier to get the ball rolling.
ThisWorks is one of the more traditional EOR providers, and a lot of its customers use it purely to power their payroll. Unlike some of the other options on the market, they don’t invest a huge amount of time and money into innovation, preferring instead to consolidate their hold over the share of the market that they already have.
This one is by far the biggest drawback of ThisWorks, but it’s one of those where it either affects you or it doesn’t. The company only operates in Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland and Spain, and so if your company is based elsewhere then you’re out of luck. However, if you happen to be located in one of those five countries, ThisWorks is the obvious choice.
ThisWorks Ratings, Customer Reviews, and User Feedback Analysis
One of the challenges with ThisWorks’ more limited pool of customers is that they’re not particularly active on the most common review sites. If you look them up on Trustpilot, you won’t find a thing.
That means that if you want to read reviews, you’ll need to dig a little deeper. During our search, we found a couple of dozen reviews, ranging from longer blogs to short posts on social networking sites, and they all agreed on one thing.
The consensus amongst ThisWorks’ customers is that it just… works. As long as you understand what they offer and make sure that it aligns with what you’re looking for, they’ll get the job done. They might not go above and beyond, but they won’t let you down either.
In fact, most mentions of ThisWorks are neutral to positive, with people just saying that ThisWorks is the EOR they’ve chosen to work with. There aren’t many people out there who say that ThisWorks exceeded their expectations, but we also didn’t see anyone complaining that they’d been let down.
Overall, then, we’re talking about an EOR that you can trust, as long as you’ve made sure that they offer the services that you’re looking for. If they don’t, then it’s time for you to look elsewhere.
